RAAF Richmond Range

Project description

Full refurbishment of an existing Range at RAAF Richmond. The project was to construct two structural retaining walls across both sides of the range to retain a 5m bank. The existing grassed area was excavated, civil works undertaken, new agg drainage installed and new compacted fill installed in layers to surveyed heights. Herringbone ballistic rubber pavers were laid across the site in the approved pattern.

Construction & design challenges

Heritage marker on top of the bank could be potentially damaged or collapse due to nearby excavation for retaining walls. Together with our engineer we designed and drilled two 450 diameter piers with concrete into the bank to ensure no collapse.
